We require your dog be current on his/her vaccinations for Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella (kennel cough).

A negative fecal test is required before daycare or boarding admission to ensure the safety of your dog and those in play at Wag Awhile. This test must be negative once every 12 months.

Please provide us with your dog’s current certificate and fecal test result each time you have been to the veterinarian.

Please bring your dog’s food so that he/she stays on the same diet while they are with us. This avoids any upset tummies. If your dog has a bed at home feel free to bring that as well. Having something with the smells of home can make dogs feel more comfortable in their new surroundings.

We offer a complimentary first day to see how your dog does in a cage free setting. Our assessment takes into account many components including how he/she reacts to our team, other dogs of various size and temperaments, food, toys, etc. We will review his/her report at the end of the day with you and answer any questions you may have.

Wag Awhile separates dogs based on safety and temperament. Size can be a factor in this decision however many small dogs actually enjoy the company of larger dogs too.

We have 3 indoor play areas plus an outdoor area as well.

We will find your dog the most suitable play area with lots of canine friends to play with.

Wag Awhile offers 3 different birthday party packages. Ask any of our team for more information.

Absolutely. “Cari’s Comfort Care” room was designed with rubber flooring and orthopaedic beds. We have belly harnesses to assist us with getting your pooch outside with ease and proper support. Our team has a Registered Veterinary Technician and several Veterinary Assistants on staff as well.

We are confident in giving medications including insulin as required.

We have several dogs that come to Wag Awhile with separation anxiety. Some join us for daycare as they are better with people than being at home alone. For dogs with significant separation anxiety when they are away from their families we use an “Adaptil” diffuser in several of our rooms or the “Adaptil Spray” in our boarding suites for those staying overnight.

Adaptil” is a dog appeasing pheromone that helps dogs keep calm and comforts them in new or stressful situations. www.adaptil.ca

Wag Awhile offers 25% off for the second or additional dog in the same household. This discount applies to daycare and boarding.

  1. Please bring a small meal, as dogs that are very active get quite hungry. They are offered their lunch just before naptime.
  2. Ensure your dog is wearing a quick release collar. Ask any team member if you have any questions.

Yes. Wag Awhile prides itself on keeping low staff to dog ratios. In order to do this we need to ensure we know how many dogs will be attending daycare each day.
